Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2015-2020

These guidelines hit the market as obesity is a national epidemic. Nationally, 30% of adults are obese.This book is designed for use by professionals to create health plans, especially for youth. Nationally, 17% of youth are obese. Child obesity rates have tripled since 1980. These guidelines are aimed at reducing that number.This edition includes an added focus on vegetarian and vegan eating. Currently, about 7.3 million of Americans identify as vegetarian, a number which has tripled since 2009.This edition features the newest government research on health and diet, including an increased focus on eating patterns, rather than foods in isolation, as competitor books often do.
